I have recently changed / added careers. For most of my life, I was a successful photo researcher and editor, researching photos, art, and cartoons for the K12 educational publishing market. I have the ability to put together cohesive visual stories.

That industry shifted and I did as well, following my love of words and clear communication.

Now, I edit mostly photography- and art-related publications, but am delighted to find typos everywhere I look.

I have been this publication's copy editor and proofreader for several years, and am presently its interim Editor in Chief. Tasks include conceptualization, editing, copy editing, proofreading, and writing, as well as fact-checking all information, sources, and links.

I am the freelance copy editor/proofreader of coffee table art books and the editor of Breuckelen Art & Culture Magazine.

I have a sharp eye for detail, easily spotting spelling, grammar, punctuation, parallel structure, and font, issues. I research and fact-check, and am careful, cautious, and complete in my vetting of names, dates, URLs, etc. I am comfortable in both Word (Track Changes) and PDF.

As a proofreader, I'm adept at comparing one body of text to another to ensure that requested changes have been made. 

I'm a diligent word geek who takes her craft very seriously. As a copy editor, my responsibility is to ensure that the writer's voice is clear, concise, and complete. As a writer, I believe that less is more. Consequently, if called upon, I am able to trim away the superfluous to reveal the essential, and bring a consistent tone and style to any topic or brand.
