2001-2004 BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies Stranmillis University College 

This degree involved the in depth study of theoretical perspectives on the young child and provided strands relating to health and well being, professional communication and relationships, managment and professional experience. The course took account of developments within the field of early childhood and reflected the multi-professional and multi-disciplinary nature of contemporary early years services.  The course identified and promoted best practice in caring for and educating young children and provided a strong theoretical underpinning of such practice. My final year dissertation researched the impact of  gender sterotypes in children's literature.

• I have a wide range of experience of proofreading, encompassing academic texts in subjects ranging from veterinary to religious studies, although my particular field of expertise is Early Years Education.
• Before qualifying as a proofreader, the majority of my working life was spent as a primary school teacher, which enabled me to share my passion for language and learning with a generation of young people. A move overseas prompted a change in direction, hence I trained with the Publishing Training Centre, the preferred training institution of The Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
•  As well as proofreading text, I have experience in compiling and editing references and bibliographies for academic work. I can arrange citations and bibliographies according to the client's specifications, having worked extensively with most of the major academic formats.
