Academic Career

  • Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, master's degree, international affairs
  • Rutgers University, Rutgers College, bachelor's degree, political science

I'm a veteran newspaper reporter focused on government and public affairs. My professional career has also versed me in matters related to the environment, sustainability and healthy living. To give a sense: I have reported on politics and economic development, elections, ethics investigations, municipal law, Congressional races and international political events. On the environmental side, I spent two years covering a state cancer cluster investigation. In terms of healthy-living, I am a former editor for Yoga Journal and still do research for the magazine. I also write content related to yoga, nutrition, meditation and more.

Zooming in on the purely academic side: For nearly two years, I was administrator for Columbia University's Seminar on the Middle East, bringing together an exclusive group of academics and subject matter experts. I also was on the editorial staff of the Journal of International Affairs, editing papers submitted by academics. Before that I was a research assistant on matters related to economic development for Rutgers University's Center for Urban Policy Research.

I have particular expertise in Iran.

Personal Message

Lover of words and research, especially when it comes to international affairs and government, especially the Middle East and Iran. Also trained in those subjects and/or have experience reporting, editing and writing about them. The same goes for the subjects of healthy-living: nutrition, yoga, meditation and traditional Chinese medicine.

I have a keen eye for detail, in particular when it comes to grammar and anything else that ties to the proper way to use language.

For projects requiring only a few hours, I can deliver within two to three business days. Larger projects generally require at least five business days. (Copyediting and proofreading generally require less time than general editing.)
